New Flyer Named to Top 100 Employers in Canada for Third Consecutive Year

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; October 10, 2007

(TSX:NFI.UN), New Flyer Industries Inc. ("New Flyer" or the "Company"), the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit vehicles in Canada and the United States, has been selected as one of the Top 100 Employers in Canada for the third consecutive year. In addition, New Flyer has also been selected as one of Manitoba’s Top 15 Employers for 2008.

New Flyer was selected as part of an annual survey conducted by Mediacorp Canada Inc., publisher of the book

The companies were evaluated based on seven key attributes: Physical Workplace; Work Atmosphere & Social; Health, Financial & Family Benefits; Vacation & Time Off; Employee Communications; Performance Management; and Training & Skills Development. In addition, charitable efforts and community involvement were also examined, since a strong correlation has been observed between charitable work and how an employer treats its own employees.

"We are proud of our efforts to date in consistently improving our working environment," said New Flyer President and CEO John Marinucci. "Being included as one of the Top 100 Employers for three consecutive years is rewarding as it demonstrates that our continued focus on the environment, safety, health and quality leads to increased customer and employee satisfaction."

Janice Harper, Director, Human Resources, says the company’s success in this area results from New Flyer’s commitment to building on the momentum of creative and positive employee engagement practices. "We identified the demands of our employees for increased levels of community involvement and increased training and benefits development and continue to act on them. Our best practices based management system not only lays the foundation for these activities, but, drives the process of identifying the opportunities for employee and Company development. This Top 100 designation is as much a success for our employees as it is for New Flyer management."

Ms. Harper also credits continued corporate focus on workplace practices as key to New Flyer’s recognition in this year’s rankings. Noteworthy workplace practices at New Flyer include unique employment opportunities, company-paid benefits, numerous social and fundraising events, company recognition of safety and environmental achievements and distinctive continuing education and professional development.

Canada’s Top 100 Employers. Mediacorp developed a list of outstanding employers that lead their industries in attracting and retaining quality employees. Over 1,800 employers began the Top 100 application process.
