In June, 2005, all three divisions of New Flyer were recertified to ISO 9001:2000. The manufacturing facilities in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Crookston, Minnesota have had continual ISO 9001 certification since July, 1998 and the St. Cloud, Minnesota facility has maintained certification since 1999, the same year the facility was opened.
New Flyer was the first North American bus manufacturer to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification across all manufacturing facilities, and has maintained its certification since initial registration in 1998. This certification confirms that the New Flyer Management Systems meet or exceed the International Quality Standard and satisfy the ISO certification requirements specified by our customers and APTA.
The New Flyer Management System is consistent and constantly calibrated in all divisions, covering all aspects of design, material and procurement. The system spans all processes from fabrication and assembly through post-delivery customer service and support. Quality Assurance activities include receiving inspection, fabrication and sub-assembly component inspections, and frequent compliance audits through all line assembly stages as well as final road testing and acceptance.
ISO/OHSAS certifications are an important element of the New Flyer Management Systems because they support continuous improvement in first-time product quality, on-time delivery, manufacturing cost reduction and improved product performance and reliability.
