At New Flyer, there is nothing more important than the health and safety of our employees and others working or visiting in our plants. The health and safety of our employees, and others working or visiting in our plants, will be determining factors in the allocation of production to each of our three manufacturing facilities.
- We will establish and maintain a progressive Health and Safety Program designed to prevent accidents and provide effective procedures in the event of an emergency
- We will maintain and support an active Joint Health and Safety Committee
- We will strive to eliminate all accidents and health hazards by integrating
- health and safety practices into our product and process design, manufacturing and business planning
- We will continuously strive to maintain a clean and organized workplace, free from debris and recognized hazards
- We will provide support for all safety procedures, including but not limited to supervisory training and the prompt elimination of recognized hazards
- We will ensure that Contractors and their workers meet or exceed all New Flyer Health and Safety program requirements
- We are committed to developing an understanding among those in leadership positions of their responsibilities to provide and promote a safe and healthy workplace
New Flyer supervisory personnel are directly responsible for:
The instruction of all employees under their control in regard to proper procedures and safe methods to be utilized in performing their duties
Taking immediate corrective measures to eliminate hazardous conditions
Carrying out accident investigations and implementing practices for the prevention of all accidents
Conducting regular safety inspections of their area
New Flyer employees are responsible to:
Attend work every day prepared to Cooperate in every respect with New Flyer safety procedures and Health and Safety legislation
Participate in housekeeping and workplace organization activities
Follow recognized safe practices and procedures
Immediately report hazardous conditions, safety concerns and accidents to the responsible supervisor.
The health and safety of all New Flyer employees must be an integral part of everything we do. Our personal and corporate future, depends upon it. Substandard safety and health performance will not be accepted.
